Strolling The Border - Los Feliz/Silver Lake

chandeliers dangling in a tree - Silver Lake

If you are a regular follower of my blog you'll know I live in the very artsy Los Feliz neighborhood of LA, which is just east of Hollywood. You may be aware of the uber-trendy Silver Lake hood that borders us. This area East Side Cool and no matter how many times I move away something always draws me back... This morning - en route to my current favorite latte spot "Broome Street General Store" -  I was armed with my camera, eyes peeled in search of a "Double Delight" rose to photograph, when I began to notice little reminders of why it is I live in this section of LA. An hour's stroll began to reveal the individuality of Los Feliz and Silver Lake's inhabitants.  Who are the people in your neighborhood? Creative, eclectic, diverse!

lending library - Los Feliz

pottery shards adorn a garden - Silver Lake

truly the BEST latte in LA!

Kangaroo Paw - Silver Lake

a means of transportation - Los Feliz

billboard in parking lot of TJ's - Los Feliz

colored pots - Silver Lake

front yard gardening - Los Feliz

flaming gate - Silver Lake

vintage cars parked up a side street - Los Feliz

What do you love about your neighborhood? Do you find inspiration in your neighbors?

Wow that chandelier hanging from the tree is so unique but looks whimsical like it would be a great idea for an outdoor wedding. This is the type of thing you'd find on Pinterest. I love the outdoor gardening and that house it looks like AZ style.

my neighborhood is right near the Hudson River.. most of it is brand new, but there are some cute places with a lot of character and cobblestone streets. i love that.

I wish my neighborhood was that interesting, but I live in a very residential and calm yet not beautiful part of a big city^^ (Lyon)

I love the lending library sign; so sweet. <3 It's nice to see such giving groups. I recently heard about a Subway restaurant that fed the homeless for free. We need more of that.

Would love to experience more of this LA ... my husband spent decades there and was a Venice local, UCLA student, etc. So he also knew the "real" LA, the one with soul :) Wish we had Free libraries like that one you have too, but we are regular users of the Public Libraries. xxxx
