Moonstone Beach
And now for part two of our sister's road trip - the actual destination! Cambria is a lovely coastal community replete with artists, lovely little shops and restaurants, and plenty of scenic beauty just begging to be explored. I have visited this charming locale more than a few times and each trip included several tours of Hearst Castle. My sister visited on a previous trip as well so we opted out of the tour but I highly recommend popping over if ever you have the opportunity. Instead we lost ourselves for hours in an antique mall where the prices were incomparable to what we pay for vintage here in LA. I found a mother-load of detachable Peter Pan collars that I had been scouring the flea markets for without success!
This dress found my sister and inspired her Halloween costume - more on that in a future post!
The gardens at Heart's Ease - a favorite old stomping ground
Heart's Ease
Charming cottages
There were all these crazy driftwood "sculptures" all over the beach
Instead of collecting sea glass we collected jade
Sadly we didn't have any sea otter sightings
Amy's mukluks from Laurentian Chief are the perfect accessory for this shot!
Dinner at Robin's (in my opinion the best restaurant in town) Ordinarily I have a fit if my lettuce is warm and wilted but this grilled romaine heart was surprisingly delicious!
Chicken with roasted tomatoes and onion confit
We burned off a few calories with a healthy pillow fight... sisters..! Amy did a nice job of selecting our accommodations at The El Colibri Boutique Hotel & Spa
Beautiful view from our last stop en route home at Los Olivos Grocery for breakfast...
... where I just had to have the Angela's Breakfast tacos because of my namesake. I have to admit, I paid a price for all that chorizo, delicious as it was! Indigestion was the signal the fun was over and time to return home...
