Birthday Escape - Palm Springs

Resort season is upon us - officially beginning November first. My girlfriend Erika and I kicked off the first of her many Birthday celebrations by driving out to "The Springs". En route we made the obligatory pit stop at Cabazon where we browsed the Marni, fondled the Prada and purchased the Tory Burch... When we arrived at our destination, La Quinta Resort, we immediately got into our bikinis to revive our road-weary and shopped-out bodies in the hot tub.

All that shopping and hot-tubbing is hungry work! After being on the road three hours the idea of dining on the premises really appealed to us. We were torn between fine dining and fine gorging... but opted for the latter at Twenty6. What can I say, sometimes I am a simple girl and just want to get my mouth around a burger!

 After breakfast we made our way over the extensive grounds to the spa where two cucumbers were steamed/cooked on my eyes within 2.5 seconds of entering the steam room! Reminded me of the time Kramer had the brilliant idea of multitasking in the shower by preparing a meal for Jerry and Elaine! 

 The final activity required tossing a Nerf football in the pool and laying out at 'Plunge' - we had it all to ourselves save for a bartender who kept us hydrated (with H2O).
