This blog is one part fantasy (I'm in no condition to be galavanting the streets of LA in 4" heels!) and one part reality (I am attempting to dispel a few myths about La La Land...), so why not do an editorial about the Fall fur trend in the heat of summer? The first day of "Carmageddon" was spent drawing four different interpretations of how to wear fur by four fantastic fashion houses. Just about every designer is backing this trend - whether it be real or faux. Living in such a warm climate restricts opportunities to decadently drape oneself but we manage. I unearth my vintage white leather and fur trimmed coat and a few other special vintage finds a few times year! Here is an idea of how the houses of Balmain, Alexander McQueen, Prada, and Guicci suggest we do it this year...
Balmain's Downtown Glam Rock Girl
McQueen's Ice Princess (with skate-inspired footwear)
Prada's Fury Dolly Bird
Guicci's 70's Lux Power Woman
For decades fur has represented glamour to many women, and for the truly glamorous nothing gets in the way of wearing it!
Bebe Daniels
Sylvie Vartan
Marlene Dietrich
Romy Schneider
Annette Vadim
Jean Shrimpton
Natalie Wood
Marion Martin
Ursula Andress
Susie Parker
Jayne Mansfield

Have you begun to think about or - gasp - shop for Fall trends? It will be months before we Angelenos can even entertain the thought of wearing a sweater... What are you looking forward to wearing?

Well, here in SF we wear sweaters and fur all year... I guess you could say it's Fall all year here. It's a good thing that's my favorite season. So of course I've been shopping for Fall already! I just got a black faux shearling and leather vest actually!
