Four Stops - Topanga Canyon

After watching a Sex and the City marathon while baby sitting my nieces I felt compelled to unearth a survivor - a dress that made the cut during many edits over the years. Everyone knows when adding to, it's important to take from... but how to know exactly what to keep? Well, Marimekko's prints are timeless, as is the nautical inspiration behind it. I've always loved the neckline on this too. The only thing I did to update the silhouette was to wrap the very long straps around my waste numerous times. (The baby doll look is a little played out at this point). I then secured the straps with an 'A' brooch and voila! It was a hit at dinner in Santa Monica. "What? This old thing?..."

dress, Marimekko for Anthropologie circa 2007; shoes, Zara
necklace, vintage; brooch, vintage; polish, OPI "No Room for the Blues"

 "beach blazer" Hurley

Have you recently rediscovered an item from your wardrobe?

Many thanks to my sister for playing fashion photographer!

Aw the KCRW in the 405 sounds fun! Whoops for the late notice! Hopefully you like the band though!

And not to subject jump, but no wonder that dress has made the cute for so long, it's awesome! Love it, it's very fun and looks great on you! You have some serious skill though, because in picture two, I would have broken my ankle!

That dress is insane! The colors, pattern and fit are to die for! It's no wonder it's made so many cuts during your wardrobe clean outs. That ones a keeper.
